At the EMPIRE BALLROOM We are invited for a dance event which is exclusive to the Sarasota Singles Society. This is your opportunity to start preparing for the dinner dances you will be invited to attend. Some of their instructors will be on hand to give us a simple group lesson followed by dancing. If you're new to ballroom dancing this will be perfectly comfortable as it is designed for you. I took ballroom dancing lessons many, many years ago then attended ballroom dances with a group of serious dancers. It was one of the most fun time periods in my life. Unfortunately, the one instructor in my small town in NC moved and my opportunity for lessons left with her. I have always wanted to get back into ballroom dancing but will be as rusty as a nail after so many years! Please don't get the wrong idea and think that you must be a ballroom dancer to attend the dances we will be hosting! Most who come are not and have a great time. However, we do have a following who are ballroom dancers and only attend those events which include dancing. For those of us who are not ballroom dancers we do our own thing but also enjoy watching the ballroom dancers float by. As you will see I attempt to offer you opportunities to broaden your horizons by exposing you to a variety of social and cultural events as well as travel.
